As of this Friday, O2 will be offering their discounted broadband service to customers on Pay as You Go tariffs, and not just Pay Monthly contract punters. Currently, customers on an O2 mobile phone contract qualify for £5 off the monthly asking price for their three unlimited broadband services.
Under the new scheme, O2 mobile customers on a prepay contract will be eligible for the same discount if they top up their mobile by the minimum amount of just £10 a month in the 3 months before their broadband bill is generated, otherwise they will be charged the higher rate.
Existing O2 customers on a prepay tariff who have O2 Broadband will automatically receive the discount with their next bill.
The packages for O2 customers are charged follows:
Standard (up to 8Mbps) - £7.50 per month
Premium (up to 16Mbps) - £10.00 per month
Ultimate (up to 20Mbps) - £15.00 per month

I read the results of a survey today that said Be Broadband (part of O2) was the fastest broadband based on average download rates. Unlimited and discounted too? Woof.

I signed up to O2 broadband a few weeks ago - I was very impressed with how quickly I got set up (5 days), and it’s much faster than the old Virgin Media/NTL nonsense I had before which was very hit and miss. I chose O2 because it was the cheapest service I could get on my line and at £12.50 per month I thought it was excellent - the only sticking point was that I could not get the extra £5 off a month because of being on PAYG - It would have been brilliant if O2 had emailed me to let me know this change of policy as a new customer they knew had an O2 PAYG account with them (!) but thanks for lettine me know Broadband Finder
I’m off to O2 to tell them my PAYG number and chisel my £5 off…

I’ve been an O2 mobile customer for years, and am more than happy with the service they’ve provided. Their recent unveiling of ADSL2+ services has also interested me, but I don’t live in an area where its currently available
If O2 could throw in some form of fixed line calls into the deal, then I’d definetly sign up when they get round to connecting with my local exchange

Would love to move from Dial Up to Broadband. Thought I had found the right package, as an existing O2 PAYG user, only to find O2 Broadband NOT available in my area. It would appear that a number of other providers can supply me with Broadband at 5Mbs - Come On O2, what about extending the Free Connection charge that expires on the 31/03/2008.
