Have any of the people interested in the Virgin Media packages tried to sign up on their existing offer available up to the 29 February, 2008 for customers transferring from NTLWorld - call waiting times of in excess of an hour - no on-line sign-up service provided. Hours and hours of customer time fruitlessly wasted!????????????

The £4.50 broadband I've seen, is for ADSL. If it is for the cable internet (M,L, or XL) then there is no line rental. (you don't need one)

I'm currently with virginmedia, on their L package. Their customer service still sucks, but when their service works, its great (I don't have that many problems with the service)

I think it helps that I work in IT.

I haven't tried their Technical support since they moved to 09 (25p per min), as I refuse to pay those kind of outlandish prices. (I can always cancel).

I've found that it not who's got the best customer service, its who's sucks the least ;)

No, other way round - if you just want broadband and no phone calls, you don't pay Virgin a penny for line rental.

Line rental is included in the monthly cost of whatever phone plan you take out.

Have Virgin sorted out their customer service yet? The deals are looking great, and when the service works its good from what I've heard.
