About 40p to produce a CD and all its packaging. £12's in a shop? Its all profit. And bands make a tiny cut of that anyway! No one needs a major label anyway. You can sell it yourself on iTunes (tho i dislike mac stuff) and have your own online store! I enjoy watching the big labels squirm. Being a musician and having a dad who was in the business i know just how much the big companies rip ppl off.
