A potential customer to Orange broadband Max at 6 months half price on 18 month contract. They advised me to inform my supplier that I was transferring and so set about a chain of events that would lead to a loss of basic telephone service. Orange did not activate my MAC code in time and so could not activate my phone or broadband. They failed to inform me of this after 6 weeks of waiting. They then closed the account and said to restart with a new MAC 48 hours after closure. I did this but was told that the promotion had changed and would no longer cover my area. When questioned on the contract they said the contract is written to tie the customer in to a penalty but can be changed by Orange at their whim, this includes changing your contract to remove promotional deals.

Customer services varies between india and Belfast and is poor.

They did however ring to ask how my service was performing not realising they had failed to connect it.

I have since heard from others who have said Orange have tied them into contracts that they would rather not be in.

In essence avoid Orange if you can.
