TalkTalk offers customers free wireless router
From today, Monday 1st September, TalkTalk will be giving its customers a free wireless router on all broadband packages sold, whether online or through the company call centre. Previously, customers received a free ASDL+ modem but had to pay £30 if they wished to upgrade to the wireless router.
A spokesman for the company said in a statement: “The fact that TalkTalk are giving this [wireless router] away free means a significant cost saving for everyone. Coupled with our existing £3.25 a month price point, this will further enhance TalkTalk as the best value broadband package out there.”
All Talk Talk broadband packages offer customers download speeds of up to 8Mbps, a 40GB monthly download limit, 5 email accounts and 15GB of free webspace. New customers are also entitled to a free 30-day trial, during which period they can cancel their subscription at any time.

All well and good looking after new talk talk customers, they should look after the loyal cutomers first.Have been trying since june 10 to get answers.Just get past from piller to post.Just make sure you do not have to pay extra £10 a month line rental, even though the exchange as been upgraded.

I have a problem with my modem, it is connected to netgear router,to send a signal to the computers in other rooms in the house, and i keep getting cut off the internet. I have tried the modem at a neighbours house and i had the same problem. Can you help me with a new modem or a free upgrade. Thank you.
Many thanks
Mary

Sounds like the best bet is to ask TalkTalk for a new modem. It’s clearly not working, and they are obliged to provide you with properly functioning equipment.

I have moved into a hosue where there is an active BT line (it has dial tone). Talktalk are the cheapest package by far but will charge £59 to install a new line (not physically, just at the exchange, giving you a new talktalk phone no). Some companies like plusnet will do this for free. I worked out the costs over 18 months and talktalk are about the same overall, but the 40gb limit made my mind up.
I have been with talktalk before at 2 previous houses. The first had no issues over a 4 year period. The second went very wrong indeed when I moved hosue due to talktalk’s very poor customer service, and thier inability to communicate with you or in my case, BT and the fact they told me I could pay BT line rental before I moved, but afterwards told me I had to pay them (get your facts right talktalk)
I’m pretty sure though that because BT are not involved this time, everything will be ok. Take my advice though, make notes of every time you speak to them. If anything does go wrong, you’ll be glad you did.
