TalkTalk has extended its offer of a free connection to new customers who sign up online for another week. The connection fee for TalkTalk Essentials is usually charged at £29.99, and was waived throughout May – this offer of a free connection has now been extended to Sunday the 14th of June, and is only available to those who sign up for an 18 month contract.
Wendy Becker, managing director of TalkTalk, said: “Our offer is open to anyone who wants to join the UK’s number one residential broadband provider, regardless of their current broadband or phone provider, but we think the savings for current customers of BT are particularly significant. But with only a few days of this offer remaining, anyone wanting to benefit from it needs to be quick.”

3 has just launched a new 30 day rolling SIM-only mobile broadband deal which costs £15 a month provides 5GB data, and access to the net at top speeds of 3.6Mbps.
This is perfect for those who don’t want to commit to a long-term contract, but will want to be able to connect at odd months throughout the year, and get better value for money that Pay As You Go. As with SIM-only plans seen on mobile phones, customer only need to give 30 days notice to cancel the contract, so there’s no long term obligation.
This SIM-only mobile broadband package can also be bought with a USB modem, for those who don’t have a spare dongle lying around. The Huawei MF627, E156g and E1550 are all available for £19.99 each.

News has just reached us that BT Broadband will be offering free upgrades to faster speeds when it’s 21st Century ADSL2+ network comes online this summer. 10 million UK homes are due to receive the free speed boost, which will provide ‘up to’ speeds of 20Mbps, more than double the top speed currently available on any of BT’s packages.
Further rollout of the service will continue into the new year. 10 million homes accounts for roughly 40 per cent of BT’s network, and it is expected that a further 55 per cent will be covered by March 2010.

Tiscali has now officially become part of the TalkTalk family, which means that Tiscali subscribers can finally breathe a sigh of relief. A new page entitled ‘My Tiscali’ has appeared on the Tiscali website, and it states that:
“We would like to re-assure you that all your services and products will continue as normal and without interruption and, importantly, your existing email addresses will remain the same.
Once the sale is complete, TalkTalk very much look forward to welcoming Tiscali customers, and assure Tiscali customers that your service will continue as it is today.”
