Vodafone Mobile Broadband Free Samsung NC 10 offer RSS

Vodafone is offering the incredibly popular Samsung NC 10 netbook with built-in mobile broadband connectivity for customers who sign up for 24 month contracts. The Samsung NC-10 is free on both a 24 month contract for £25 a month with 1GB of data and a 24 month contract for £30 a month with 3GB of data, and comes with a Vodafone SIM and Mobile Broadband built-in, meaning no USB dongle, so no extra cost.

Integrating the SIM card within the body of the laptop itself also places a significantly smaller drain on the battery, and is also frees up one of the three USB slots for greater convenience. The Samsung NC 10 comes with an Ethernet port allowing you to connect to the net at home using your fixed-line broadband subscription, rather than eating into your mobile broadband usage.

The vital stats of the Samsung NC 10 are as follows:

  • 10.2″ backlit LCD screen
  • Microsoft Windows XP
  • 160GB Hard Drive
  • 1GB RAM
  • Intel® Atom™ Processor, 1.60 GHz
  • 3 USB ports
  • 3 in 1 memory card slot (micro SD, SDHC, and MMC)

The NC 10 is shipped with Windows XP although its upgradeable to Vista – the 1GB of RAM can be easily expanded to the requisite 2GB via an internal memory slot.

Watchout though if you’re considering getting the NC10 netbook package from Vodafone – it only comes with a 3-cell battery unlike the 6 cell battery the standard retail Samsung is packaged with, meaning you will barely get 3 hour’s use unlike the 7+ hours all the reviews rave about and one of the NC10′s strongest selling points.

Good catch, DieselDen. I was really thinking about this deal and was even prepared to overlook the meagre 1GB allowance in favour of the built in HSDPA and treating it as buying the netbook in 24 installments of £25 but having a bonus of 1GB of data thrown in per month. However, the fact that the battery has half the capacity of the normal 6 cell is an absolute show stopper for me. Have you seen how much an OEM 6 cell costs? £100+!!! unless you buy one of the those crappy ones from China that last about 6 months before failing.

No deal but as soon as Voda£one rectify this then I’m in.
