Orange: Laptop Broadband deals now with added Windows 7 RSS

This Christmas you might wake up to find a different kind of Orange in your stocking. Orange is bringing two new laptops to the broadband bundle, the Asus 1005HGO and the Compaq CQ61 laptops.

These machines are available now on 18 or 24 month Orange mobile broadband tariffs, are compact and lightweight and both come with Windows 7 installed.

The Asus laptop is the lower-specced of the two and is ideal as a notebook for workers and students who travel a lot and want to be able to hammer out reports/dissertations on the train rides in between meeting/lectures.

The Asus laptop comes with a SIM card built in, so there’s no need for you to attach a dongle. The Asus laptop features a 10.1-inch display, a 250G and a built-in webcam.

The Compaq option comes with an Orange E1752 dongle instead of a built-in SIM. Again, there’s a webcam, but the display this time measures 15.6-inches across. The Compaq laptop also has a DVD drive meaning you can watch films on the move, three USB ports and a 250GB hard drive.

The tariffs provide 1GB, 3GB and 5GB of monthly usage and cost £25, £30 and £35 respectively, and as mentioned above, come in 18 and 24 month flavours.

The Asus 1005HGO is available free on every Orange tariff, whereas the Compaq CQ61 costs £130 upfront on the cheapest tariffs (OK, so it’s £129 on the 18 month 1GB contract…) and is only available free on the most expensive 24 month contract (5GB).

The Compaq machine costs £99 and £65 on the respective 18 and 24 month versions of the 3GB tariff.  On the 18 month 5GB tariff it costs £65.
