Like all of the BT Broadband packages, Option 1 allows for connection speeds of up to 8Mbps, gives you the option to choose the length of the contract (either 12 or 18 months), includes 5 free email addresses, 250 free Wi-Fi minutes per month, and allows you to make free evening and weekend calls via BT Broadband Talk, BT's VoIP service.

There is a download limit of 5GB per month, which should be enough for most families, but more frequent users may find this restrictive and may want to sign up for one of BT's higher-end packages. With a fast connection and inclusive UK calls and technical support bundled as standard, BT's basic Broadband deal is hard to beat.

BT's TV service, BT Vision, includes access to thousands of hours of entertainment and the BT Vision Digital TV Recorder box allows you to pause, rewind and record TV. It also gives you access to Freeview channels plus hours-upon-hours of on-demand programming.
