About Demon Broadband

One of the earliest UK ISP's, Demon Internet is a well-established brand, having supplied consumers and businesses with dial-up access since 1992. It was acquired by Scottish Telecom in 1998, which later rebranded itself as THUS in 1999 – Demon Internet then became an outlet for the range of online services provided by THUS, including wide ranging internet connections between the US, Europe and the UK. The Demon broadband service offers two packages, tailored to suit the needs of both home and business users.

I signed up for Home Office from Demon because of their hosting capabilities, allowing me to set up a VPN for my home business. I've used Demon since ye olde days of dial up, and so I know I can trust them to deliver a good service.

After signing up was set up and was enjoying decent broadband speeds of around 6Mbps, have never had any problems at all, and can download everything I need without worrying about usage caps. Definitely recommended for small home-based business users!

HomeOffice 8000 from Demon Internet is a Broadband service configured for those who work from home. As well as the same security programs, connection speed of up to 8Mbps and unlimited monthly download offered by their home platform, HomeOffice also comes with a 4-port Ethernet router allowing for multiple devices to share the same connection, 20MB of free webspace, and a static IP address feature, allowing VPN access so that employees can communicate confidentially with their co-workers from home.

HomeOffice 8000 also supports Demon Dial Companion, a pay-as-you-go service enabling users to remotely access email and webmail accounts, and fax services through laptops or other remote devices using the home Broadband connection.

£22.99 is the monthly asking price for Demon's HomeOffice package, a real bargain for home businesses.
