One of the earliest internet service providers in the UK, Demon Internet is a well-established brand, having supplied residential and businesses customers alike with dial-up access since 1992. It was acquired by Scottish Telecom in 1998, which later rebranded itself as THUS in 1999 – Demon Internet then became an outlet for the range of online services provided by THUS, including wide ranging internet connections between the US, Europe and the UK. The Demon Internet service offers two packages, tailored to suit the needs of general browsing, and web use, and for those working or running a business operation from home.
All Demon Internet packages provide customers with unlimited downloads, unlimited email addresses, free set-up and connection and comes with free hardware and security programs, giving you everything you need to set up a secure broadband network around the home.
Demon is a brand of THUS plc and Broadband Finder is acting as an affiliate.
I have been with Demon since the days of dial up and have been completely happy with the service (5 Stars in all three categories). The technical assistance was second to none.
They have however recently been acquired by Cable and Wireless and moved to an Indian Call Centre. Customer Sat has plumetted and the move to ADSL 2+ has left me with an intermittent broadband connection.
A few months ago I would have highly recommended Demon as an ISP, but at the moment the jury is still out

I signed up for Home Office from Demon because of their hosting capabilities, allowing me to set up a VPN for my home business. I've used Demon since ye olde days of dial up, and so I know I can trust them to deliver a good service.
After signing up was set up and was enjoying decent broadband speeds of around 6Mbps, have never had any problems at all, and can download everything I need without worrying about usage caps. Definitely recommended for small home-based business users!
