PlusNet's Value and Unlimited broadband packages provide the same maximum connection speeds of up to 8Mbps across the board, with increasing monthly download limits of up to 40GB. PlusNet's Unlimited broadband package comes without download caps, meaning you can surf the web, play online games as much as you like and download music files and HD movies.

PlusNet customers have the option to earn money-off their subscriptions or make a profit by recommending PlusNet's services to their friends and family, and potentially save money on domestic phone calls by making use of the free minutes offered by their VoIP service, Broadband Phone.

I have been with Plusnet for almost 5 years, and chose them for no usage limits at a very competitive cost. I have never had any problems,usually achieved 4-5 Mbs speeds, recommended them to friends and only last week gave them a glowing verdict in a Which? survey. This week my speed has slowed to little more than dial-up, and after 22 minutes listening to the support line telling me my call would be answered shortly, was advised that I had exceeded my 4Gb download limit, and that nothing could be done until my next bill. Plenty can be done - Plusnet are not the only players in this game!

I've been with Plusnet now for 1 Month and although in the beginning I had some connection problems, when ever I Phoned Plusnet they always did there best to help. After about a week and getting BT to sort the line out, the problem was sorted. I've had good service ever since. When ever I switch the router back on the broadband is always on with no delays and I've never lost signal while being on line. The 2WIRE router that comes free is more than able to cope with my desktop, my partners laptop and the Wii all being on-line at the same time. Some people may be put off with the fact the Plusnet cap the bandwidth at peak-times, but this is the reason their srvice never has problems and to be honest, if you are just browsing the web, then you will never notice the cap. If you are wondering about the usage limits, I've used 7.5G in 4 weeks and I downloaded all my Microsoft updates for two computers and all the updates for my Wii. 20G is a whole lot of Downloads. Plus if you want to download really big files remember that between 00:00 and 08:00 is free and does not count towards your monthly usage limit.

I have been a customer of PlusNet for about 6 months now. On the whole they have been good. With the basic packages they give you the option when you reach the allotted monthly download limit of either paying for additional Gbs (£1 per Gbs) or to have you service speed reduced for the rest of the month. Alternatively you can buy Gbs in advance (75p per Gbs). You can also check you usage in their account section on the site. After a few months i worked out i was using about 2 Gbs per month so have added an extra gig to my monthly amount. This means i get broadband for only £10.74 a month with a 2Gb limit, not bad at all. I would definitely recommend PlusNet for light to medium users.
