When I lived in an area where you could get Virgin Cable, I had the 20mb service and I loved it. I got 2.44MB/s downloads (so long as I had many concurrent threads on the go), and browsing the net was amazing. I wouldn't even blink at download a 500mb file. People say Virgin is unreliable, but I disagree. They've had problems, but they're really sorting out their infrastructure. I hope I live in an area where I can get 50Mb one day!

Their speeds are also as advertised which is something that my previous provider did not offer.

Used to have good customer service when Blueyonder but now a complete rip off with premium rate, Parkistan based helpline.
Email service down frequently lately.
Does have unlimited downloads but speed on my 2Mb package is not always as fast as it should be.
Impossible to talk to anybody lately as telephone service takes you around in circles with their automated service.

Signed up with Virgin when I moved into a flat recently with 3 mates – this stuff about only having one computer per connection is rubbish, all of us have computers and/or laptops and we manage to connect fine. Obviosuly it's not perfect, especially when we all try to connect at once during peak times.
We’re on the Size L 4MB broadband, and we have the Talk Unlimited phone package, and as a result we get the basic Virgin Media TV service thrown into the deal – cant say we really watch much telly tbh, but its nice to have a freebie. We save loads on the phone calls as line rental is included, and the internet service, bar peak time throttling does what it says on the tin. 4MB pretty much all the time.
Have to say, the customer service is terrible, but then again, it’s just as bad as anywhere else. Luckily, we’ve only had to contact them once.

hello every one. I have been with the old telewest since 14th january 2003, I am now on and have been on 512k dawnload speed since 11th August 2006, and paying £10 a month for this 512k dawnload speed, and yet I have seen on the virgin web site that "you can have internet speed with virgin on a 2mb dawnload speed for £4:40 a month, even better you can have 4bm dawnload speed for £11:50 a month, BUT me Im on 512k for £10 a month, and no one has spoken to me from virgin broadband, saying you can have 4bm broadband for an extra £1:50 a month.
I have had no problems with this broadband from the old telewest or as it is now vigin,
It go'es to show if you pay your bill's on time.
You do not get nothing back, no one has told me about these new dawnload speed,s, for less than what I am paying. now an't that nice of virgin. "Don't worry about Mr Woodley he always pay's his bill each month," "no worries mat" dont tell him, he wont ask then to be upgraged, we just take his £10 a month.......
