AOL launches new discount shopping portal

AOL has announced the launch of a new portal that aims to give broadband users a way to find the products they want at a price they can afford when shopping online.
The group states the Discount Codes website - which can be accessed via discount-codes.aol.co.uk - is a simple to navigate option for those looking to beat the ongoing effects of the recession by being careful about the purchases they make.
Armed with listings for all the latest voucher codes, the site will give consumers the ability to find items through AOL Shopping that have been put up at discounted rates by "hundreds of the UK's leading retailers".
Commenting on the launch, AOL Europe's director of shopping Sean O'Connell said the popularity of discount codes during this period of economic awareness was the reasoning behind the new site.
He explained: "Our users told us they were looking for a simple, high quality and - most importantly - reliable guide to world of discount codes."
"Our mission in shopping is to connect people to great products [
] and we're excited to add discount codes to this experience."
As part of the launch, AOL will team up with vouchercodes.co.uk and according to its founder Duncan Jennings the partnership will help build relationships with retailers and offer "incredible savings" to the public.
Earlier this week, AOL announced it would launch a UK version of the ParentDish site that has proved popular with mums and dads in the US.
