AOL Music has announced the launch of a new site that aims to bring together fans of all kinds of genres to learn about the latest developments in the sector.

With Spinner - an online resource that can be found at spinnermusic.co.uk - the former internet services provider has created a web portal that hosts news, reviews and other items.

Promising the resource will be "packed with inside stories and scoops", AOL noted visitors will have access to information about all of their favourite bands and artists as well as exclusive video content that cannot be found on any other page.

"Spinner brings its unrivalled content for passionate music fans to a market where AOL Music is already the top-rated music entertainment site in the UK," the firm claimed.

Key features of Spinner include a section named The Interface, where live performances from up and coming acts will showcased, as well as a Band of the Week page that offers a look at emerging talent receiving attention in the industry. CD Listening Parties will offer a collection of music and pre-releases that can be accessed for free and Down the Front gives a rough guide to some of the best venues in the UK.

Bill Crandall, vice-president of AOL Music, commented: "We are continuing to tap into music passion points by creating genre specific sites to create the most comprehensive music experience on the web," adding that the group would continue to bring British fans "the best local and global, music content".
