AOL shows commitment to its consumers

Customers of internet firm AOL have been told that the company will focus on looking after them as it starts a new venture divorced from former business partner Time Warner.
Chairman and chief executive officer of AOL Tim Armstrong said that yesterday (December 10th) was an important day for the firm.
"Our company is focused on building the highest quality content for consumers and the best products and services for our advertising and publishing partners," he explained, before adding the company wants to return the business to growth.
Potential AOL customers may also be interested to hear that Mr Armstrong said the firm is looking to build the products and services "that capture the promise of digital media".
AOL Broadband was acquired by The Carphone Warehouse Group in December 2006 and is said to be a key part of the latter's telecommunications division, which also includes Talk Talk, the Opal Retail and CPW Networks businesses.
Deals currently being offered by AOL Broadband include single internet packages, broadband and phone combinations and Wireless Flexi broadband, which gives customers the internet but without having to commit to a long-term contract.
The latter option can be cancelled at any time, although the company says that consumers will not want to end the deal once it has started.
It is possible to find a Wireless Flexi broadband package that sees customers pay £4.99 for three months and £14.99 thereafter. It offers up to 8Mbps download speed - depending on an individual's line and location - as well as a 10GB usage allowance.
