Survey highlights email anxiety

Survey highlights email anxiety On average, a quarter of home broadband users check their email accounts as soon as they wake up in the morning, according to a new study.

Research conducted by Beta Research Corporation and sponsored by internet service provider AOL shows that 23 per cent of users check their inbox first thing.

Another eight per cent log in to their accounts during breakfast to look for messages, while four per cent check again during lunch and 0.5 per cent during their evening meal.

In total, just over a third of home broadband users said they check their email accounts several times during the day, with one in 20 doing so during the night.

The survey also revealed that nearly three-quarters of Britons have more than one personal email account.

A separate study by AOL shows that seven in ten people are willing to excuse spelling errors in emails that are sent from mobile devices.
