Broadband firm says sorry for congestion

Broadband provider Fast4 has apologised to consumers for recent drops in surfing speeds amid congestion problems.
According to the firm's chief executive officer Steve Kaye, congestion issues have arisen because the firm's wholesale supplier has reached a congestion limit on one of its asymmetric digital subscriber lines, reports ISPReview.co.uk.
The two firms are now discussing what can be done to rectify the problem and Fast4 has said that it will release any further updates when agreements have been reached.

'Broadband users don't want the wires'

Many broadband users would like to have a connection without the wires, a study has shown.
A survey commissioned by mobile firm Motorola has found that almost half of broadband customers would like a wireless connection, especially when on the move.
Many respondents said they were keen to use their broadband to check e-mails while out and about, while others said that they would use the connection to access news and media or just for general entertainment.
