Be Broadband to launch speed tester on website

Be Broadband has announced that the main page of its website will feature a speed tester.
The UK internet service provider's (ISP) move is intended to show the firm's commitment to the voluntary Code of Practice (CoP) that was announced in June by Ofcom.
Rather than display advertising rates, the CoP obliges firms to show customers what speeds they can expect in reality.

BT resolves Broadband iPlayer bug

A bug that caused BT HomeHub broadband routers to crash has been fixed by the internet service provider (ISP).
The problem made the routers reset themselves when subscribers to the service attempted to view content using the BBC iPlayer and other live TV streams.
Mac and PC users were both affected by the issue, which is thought to have been related to Adobe's Flash player. PC users were able to solve the problem by upgrading to the latest Flash software, but Mac users faced tougher problems.
