Be Broadband launches surveillance offering

Friday 7th December 2007, by Daniel King

Be Broadband has launched a new surveillance service that operates through a wireless camera for its home and business customers.

The internet service provider said that the Be home monitor service enables users to obtain a record of movements at their properties while they are away via a variety of channels.

When movement is detected, the camera automatically sends an SMS, MMS or email alert to the customer, with users able to view footage from the camera by logging onto their online account.

The service carries a £150 setup charge and a £5 monthly fee thereafter.

Oli White, head of marketing at Be, commented: "The Be home monitor service provides you, and only you, [with] instant access to what matters most to you, your family, home and business."

Be offers a range of broadband packages providing speeds of up to 24Mbps and costing between £14 and £22 a month.
