BE bundles to offer 'competitive pricing'

Wednesday 14th July 2010, by Daniel King

Broadband customers could soon benefit from price reductions when new providers start offering landline and internet bundles.

Tom Williams, managing director of BE Broadband, has stated that the firm's bundle packages will be competitively priced.

According to the MD, the deals will prove attractive to customers currently paying for standard BT landlines.

The comments come after the company announced that BE landlines will be launched in September and put on sale in conjunction with its broadband offerings.

"Pricing will be competitive and will offer a saving to customers on standard BT line rentals, we will also be able to offer installations on new lines for customers at a significantly cheaper rate than BT," said Mr Williams.

"Understandably, when people move into a new home they don't always want to or have the means to pay the high BT costs to install a new line. Now we can help make that more affordable."

He added that the landline connection will still offer the same "premium quality" its broadband customers have come to expect.

"Members will have peace of mind that they'll get the same quality service from us as well as the benefit of a single monthly bill for both," he commented.

Earlier this month BE selected a number of its existing customers and non-BE members to trial the landline service before its official rollout later this year.

The landline offerings are expected to be delivered in three packages, with customers choosing between a basic option used just to access the internet, an evenings and weekends package and an anytime deal, which allows customers to call "everyone they know in 22 countries".
