Be reveals new broadband business package

Be reveals new broadband business package The internet service provider Be has announced a restructuring of its business package.

The firm, which was bought by O2 last year, has said that Be Office users, who are currently paying £75 a month excluding VAT will be transferred to a new scheme costing just £40 a month including VAT, reports ZDNet UK.

Under the deal, users will receive unlimited use of broadband as well as a static IP address, special member support, 24Mbps downstream and 2.5Mbps upstream.

A spokesperson for O2 told the publication that the pricing change was required because the broadband provider was now targeting "power users" as well as business customers.

"We're moving away from pitching it like an office product because it's got benefits that power users want to make the best of," he added in reference to static IP addresses and enhanced support.

O2 purchased Be for £50 million in June 2006.
