Customers could be overcharged, reports PlusNet

Broadband provider PlusNet has spoken about the issue of customers paying too much for their connection, which could be because they are not aware of their bandwidth usage.
Products and marketing director at the firm Neil Armstrong commented on the problem, explaining customers need to be made aware of which activities take-up too much bandwidth.
Mr Armstrong spoke about the penalities which could be incurred for exceeding bandwidth limits, saying: "This is different with each internet service provider. Some restrict the speeds on your account and make it unusable. Some charge several pounds per GB or even offer you a MAC key."
Those looking for a new broadband supplier may be interested in investigating both the bandwidth allowance, top-up charges and penalties for overuse.
Meanwhile, downloading from the internet has led to the suspension of 72 pupils from a school in Lincolnshire.
The mass-expulsion came after students downloaded a gamed called Armagetron onto school computers, rather than using their home broadband connection, reported the Daily Mirror.
