New compression technology for broadband users

Broadband users may soon be able to enjoy live events online at a higher quality level thanks to developments by a Hull-based company, reports the Yorkshire Post.
Compression technology will allow faster uploading and high-quality videos, even when shown in full screen, claims developer Bestfrontseat.
Peter Kemp, director of the firm, explained to the newspaper: "Bestfrontseat has developed a global video delivery network that guarantees a fast and reliable delivery service, with clients only paying for the deliveries we actual make for them. No delivery, no fee."
As well as offering quality coverage of events, the company has launched an e-ticket system for those wanting to watch an event using their broadband connection, with the instant messages from the organiser to the viewers.
The importance of online broadcasting of events was highlighted earlier this month, when the Guardian revealed that ITV was to show Formula 1 racing online for the first time.
