New service provider posts broadband bundle

Monday 22nd October 2007, by Daniel King

The UK's broadband market has another new service provider to increase the competition further - the Post Office.

Post Office Broadband, run by the Royal Mail, has been launched with a mix of 12-month contracts in an effort to increase revenues for the troubled company.

A duel broadband and home phone deal offers customers an eight Mb internet connection, free weekend and evening phone calls, a free modem and free line rental for £20.95 per month.

The Post Office also offers a broadband service, which includes a connection with up to an eight Mb download speed and a free modem for £15.95 per month.

Earlier this month, the Royal Mail was hit by a series of strikes over pay disputes and changes to employees working conditions.
