Broadband users are now able to work out their average usage, thanks to a new service which has been launched by PlusNet.
The Broadband Calculator can help those looking for a new supplier to ascertain their monthly habits, to avoid being penalised for going over monthly limits.
Neil Armstrong from the company explained: "Consumers don't know what effect music and video is going to have on the quality of their broadband and the bills they might face."
According to YouGov research, undertaken on behalf of PlusNet, 78 per cent of broadband users are not aware of how much of their service limits are used by their internet usage, which could result in problems when using services such as iPlayer which use a lot of bandwidth.
It was also revealed that 27 per cent are not aware of their limits available on their broadband internet package.
Earlier in the year, the internet service provider was awarded the Best Consumer Broadband title at the Internet Service Provider Association Awards.

give you the best available. The speed you actually get can also vary
depending on the quality of your line, the wiring in your house, the
time of day and even the weather.
