Britain 'one of most active online populations'

The popularity of the internet and broadband use in Britain has continued to rise, with 60 per cent of the population going online in 2007.
Research by eMarketer shows that 37 million people used the internet every month last year, while it predicts that 70 per cent of people in the UK will be online by 2012.
Britain will account for 40 per cent of online sales in western Europe this year, according to the magazine, with a growing average annual spend from British shoppers.
ISP news reports the author of the survey Karin von Abrams as saying: "Britain has one of the most experienced and active online populations in the world ... confidence in ecommerce is high."
The national E Commerce Expo will take place in October at the Olympia, London where companies can present information about the industry and its future.
