The UK has the most users of social networking internet sites in Europe, according to new data.
Nearly 25 million unique British users logged on to a social network site, such as Facebook or MySpace, within the month of August, statistics from comScore show.
Broadband users in the UK spent more time on such sites compared to the rest of Europe, as well as viewing more pages. Nearly 78 per cent of those with an online connection in the UK visited a social network site during August.
Bob Ivins, executive vice president at comScore, said: "About eighty per cent of all online activity at social networking sites can be attributed to only 20 per cent of visitors."
ComScore is a global internet researcher which monitors broadband usage in a variety of fields.
