The behaviour of broadband users in the UK has been outlined in a recent study - and it seems mobile phone websites have been among the most visited in the last year.
According to the research, put together by experts at the Nielsen Company, the sector saw overall growth in the last twelve months of 58 per cent, with a number of individual sites highlighted for their performance.
It was advised the growth of mobile phone recycling could be seen in the traffic increases experienced by firms like Mazuma and envirofone, while other manufacturers and networks also enjoyed significant rises.
Nokia was noted as up by 203 per cent in July when compared to the same month in 2008, while networks Vodafone and O2 were up by 91 per cent and 79 per cent respectively in terms of unique site visitors.
The study also found that broadband users were keen to get information on food and cooking, as this was the second-fastest growing area of web activity - just two per cent behind mobile phones at 56 per cent.
Next up, hits on portals that offered access to coupons and rewards were highlighted with 55 per cent growth, while insurance pages witnessed increases of 53 per cent.
Other categories making an appearance included car manufacturers (44 per cent), health, fitness and nutrition (40 per cent), computer hardware (37 per cent), delivery services (34 per cent) and parenting (33 per cent).
In the last year, companies like Vodafone and O2 have announced network exclusive mobile phones like the HTC Magic and Apple iPhone 3G S respectively, which may have helped support the reported levels of growth.
