Broadband users 'will watch more tv online'

Online television is set to gain in popularity throughout 2008, according to the president of Narrowstep, the leading provider of internet tv services.
Barak Bar-Cohen has explained that services are increasing in quality, with more broadcasters using broadband to increase profitability of their programming.
He said that Europe was ahead of America in terms of broadband usage and internet television uptake.
"Broadband penetration is so much higher in this part of the world, so it's really broadband penetration that is driving TV over the internet and streaming adoption," said Mr Bar-Cohen.
Although statistic show that less than one in five people have so far watched television programmes on the internet, it still could affect the viewing figures for scheduled tv.
The 2008 Digital Entertainment Survey by Entertainment Media Research showed that 18 per cent of those asked said that they watched less conventional television because of online streamed video content.
