Broadband viewers could get regional BBC news online

Broadband customers could soon be able to watch BBC news online, if the scheme is approved by industry watchdog Ofcom.
Once the idea is given the go-ahead, internet users will be able to get "ultra-local" news videos online, reports the Corporation.
Diana Coyle, BBC trustee and chair of the Trust's public value and fair trading committee, explained that the move came in response to a licence fee payer demand for more local services.
She added: "We now want to receive all comments - positive and negative - from the public and the industry before we consider the application in detail."
However, there have been concerns that if approved, the £68 million scheme could affect local newspapers - an issue which is currently being considered as part of the Ofcom review.
In January, the BBC reported that over a million people had used its iPlayer service, where broadband customers can catch-up on the last week of programmes broadcast on its channels.
