BT offers free Home Hub for broadband subscribers

BT has announced that it is offering a free wireless router for UK subscribers to all of its broadband packages.

Web users looking for a top deal in the new year could be tempted to switch to the provider, with the promise of a free BT Home Hub for those who sign up.

The offer applies to all of the firm's Total Broadband packages, with introductory prices starting from £7.78 a month for its standard Fast and reliable service.

This package includes basic online security and parental controls, as well as providing speeds of up to 8MB, giving users "everything you need for cheap broadband at high speeds".

Customers can also sign up to heavy usage and unlimited packages, which allow greater download capacity and also come with the free Home Hub.

The router offers wireless internet connections of up to twice the wireless range available with other broadband providers, BT claims.

This deal comes on the back of BT Vision's success in striking an agreement with Virgin Media Television to show a number of top shows from the Living channel.

Vision customers will be able to access shows including Most Haunted, Dirty Dancing and a number of one-off specials.

Marc Watson, director of content and business development for BT Consumer, said the deal would help to continue BT Vision's audience growth.

"We are delighted with this high-profile addition to our television portfolio. Living is a prestigious brand and the youth and female focus fits well with the BT Vision demographic," he added.
