BT wins international customer service award

BT customers may be pleased to hear their service provider has recently been acknowledged with an international award.
The company won the Best Customer Service gong at the Telecoms World Middle East, established by business media and events firm Terrapinn.
This follows numerous other accolades the business has received in this field, such as the Diamond Award from Telemark and a World Communication Award.
Under consideration in the naming of the successful brands was the design and implementation of strategies for consumer care.
In addition, the use of technology in providing solutions for users and future plans to improve the quality of customer service were also assessed.
Commenting on the company's success, Oliver Campenon, BT president EMEA and Global Services, said he was delighted at the recognition, adding that the service provider puts its clientele "at the heart of everything" it does.
While the accolade will allow the firm to reflect on its successes in this department, it will also serve to spur it on, he said.
"It
adds new impetus to our continuous drive to become the industry's number one in customer service excellence," Mr Campenon said.
Meanwhile, BT customers are set to have more options when it comes to surfing the web and using functions such as voice over the internet protocol while away from home.
The company announced last week that it is to provide Wi-Fi access via BT Openzone to Macdonald Hotels and Resorts.
According to the communications provider, this will provide some 4,500 bedrooms with wireless internet by the end of the year.
