HP laptop 'a well-priced wireless solution'

Those looking for a small and portable wireless broadband solution may be interested to hear the comments of a new article looking at the latest netbook in the Hewlett Packard (HP) range.

Following on from its previous devices - which have included the business focussed 2133 Mini-Note PC - Trusted Reviews stated the manufacturer may have created a reasonably-priced solution for consumers and web users in its Mini 110c model.

The site's writer Andy Vandervell highlighted some of the features that may endear the gadget to some users, which he said included its stylish good looks and glossy finish - although it was noted this would attract fingerprints and "the usual grease and grime".

In terms of hardware, the netbook was described as fairly standard, offering a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, as well as 1 GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive. Wireless broadband users were also advises that they could expect 802.11b/g Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as Bluetooth support and an integrated webcam.

Three USB ports, Ethernet socket, VGA output and a multi-format card reader fill out the selection of options the HP Mini 110c has to offer - and although a model like the Toshiba NB200 was noted as providing more features, Mr Vandervell explained the low cost of the netbook would balance this out.

He concluded: "The 110c's strength lies in its price. While most manufacturers seem intent on pushing all new netbooks above the £300 mark, prices for the 110c start at £249 for the three-cell battery version, rising to a reasonable £279 for the six-cell version."

The site recently reviewed the Wired2Fire HellSpawn ALC Gaming PC, which may be of interest to those with a fixed-line internet connection.
