'Increased interest' in working from home
Monday 14th April 2008, by Daniel King
There are more people hoping to work part-time from home, according to Work Wise UK, which could increase the demand for good home broadband packages.
It has been noted that as environmental concerns climb individual's agendas and the cost of travel inflates, awareness of the potential of home-working has increased.
Chief executive of Work Wise UK Phil Flaxton explained: "More people think that if they can work from home one or two days a week; not use the car or not travel on the train, then that is going to help things like carbon emissions."
Those with home broadband who travel to work may be interested in research into home-working by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform.
Findings from its survey showed that 52 per cent of workers knew that they had a right to enquire about flexible working hours, with 13 per cent of employees undertaking the right to work flexibly since April 2003.
