Internet security in Wales highlighted

The importance of keeping safe while using broadband has been highlighted by a recent spate of internet thefts, reports News Wales.
It has been revealed by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) that 80 per cent of consumers in the south-west and Wales are now more careful with their personal information on the internet after recent data loss scandals.
Deputy commissioner at the ICO David Smith explained: "As more and more personal information is collected, the risk grows that some information will be inaccurate, out of date or end up in the wrong hands."
Around 57 per cent of those asked said they did not have confidence in the way that organisations handled their personal information.
Broadband users can protect themselves with security packs, such as BT's deal for £4.99 per month with automatic updates.
It has also been recommended by broadband supplier BT that customers back-up their information and data in case of a virus or infection.
