Lincolnshire to get speedier broadband services

Lincolnshire to get speedier broadband services One of Virgin Media's member companies has announced a boost to its network in Lincolnshire which may help increase the area's broadband speeds.

The £13.5 billion investment by ntl:Telewest Business has now been completed in a bid to ensure that the local network will be able to support next generation services, reports the Lincolnshire Echo.

Improvements made by the broadband provider will impact upon 20 areas, including Grantham, potentially increasing the speeds of broadband across the region.

David Edges, the firm's business sales manager, said that companies in Lincolnshire would benefit from some of the UK's fastest communications services.

"Besides speeding the rate at which business is undertaken, the network improvements also make communications far more flexible and enable firms to make fundamental operational changes in order to make them more competitive," he said.

Earlier this month, the firm announced that it would be teaming up with Stoke-on-Trent City Council to provide local libraries, homes and educational facilities with communications services.
