Microsoft reveals new web service

Future broadband users may be using the internet in a different way following the launch of a new web service from Microsoft.
Live Mesh has been designed to help devices connect and work together, creating a network between computers, laptops, mobile phones and other folders, reports the BBC.
Amit Mital, general manager of Live Mesh, said: "As we discover, adopt and use more of these digital devices, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep the people, information and applications we depend on in sync."
It was also reported that users of the service will be offered unlimited peer-to-peer data, to allow the exchange of data online and offline. In addition, 5GB of online storage will be made available, which could interest broadband users.
Meanwhile, the Scotsman reported that although search engine Yahoo has increased its income threefold in the first quarter of 2008, Microsoft will not increase its bid for the company, currently set at £22 billion.
