Mobile broadband 'not just for travelling salesmen'

Mobile broadband is rapidly becoming an essential part of many people's day to day lives and one particular network has been highlighted as offering a service that is ahead of its competitors.

According to a feature posted on the Electricpig website, a technology news resource that covers a range of electrical and web-based issues, portable internet solutions are much more than "just a handy tool for travelling salesmen".

It states the lack of wiring and telephone line connections, as well as the platforms lack of a need for Wi-Fi hotspots, means many people are enjoying the benefits of flexible broadband - and 3 Mobile is "leading" this revolution.

The article notes that no two deals are the same when it comes to securing the right web package - which could inspire some to compare the current range of prices and offers online - but states the network's current offerings are among the best.

It adds: "They start as low as £10 per month on pay-as-you-go or pay monthly plans, all the way up to £15 per month with a whopping 15GB download limit - That's enough to surf for 150 hours non-stop, or download 480 music tracks."

Also highlighted is the fact that 3 Mobile currently offers 90 per cent coverage of the UK, with 3G HDSPA support to allow "ultra-fast downloads", connecting at up to 3.6Mbps.

The site concludes that with a range of upgrades in the pipeline, 3's speeds are likely to get even faster in the future with a number of towns and cities enjoying 7.2Mbp connections by the end of this month.

Recently, the network reminded consumers that although Skype was now available on the Apple iPhone, its own range of handsets had offered this for some time.
