MySpace makeover announced
Monday 16th June 2008, by Daniel King
Broadband customers who use their connection to stay in touch with friends through MySpace may be interested to learn of a transformation set to take place on the social networking site.
It has been revealed by the BBC that designers have been working on the new look for over a year, in a bid to keep members on the site for a longer period of time, with improvements such as a simplified homepage reported.
Antony Lukom, managing director of MySpace explained: "Social networks are part of our lives now and we're going through the same process. Lots of users don't know how to cut and paste code so we want to make that easier."
Earlier in the year, the corporation reported that the site was launching its own music service, after securing a deal with labels such as Universal and Sony BMG.
Set to be launched later in the year, MySpace music will allow broadband users who use the site to buy tracks which can be used on their MySpace homepage and then copied for personal use on to MP3 players.
