Broadband users will soon be able to enjoy new online channels from National Geographic, which has announced that its website will be divided into six subsections, providing extra options for online nature lovers.
National Geographic is putting 1,500 archive clips online with episodes and extra clips updated weekly, and extra divisions to be added annually to maintain interest.
Broadband users may be more aware of the speeds they are offered by their service providers, in the wake of increased online television services.
Channels will include People and Places, Science and Technology and Exploration and Adventure.
Broadcast Engineer has speculated that the move comes in the wake of similar announcements from the Discovery Communications networks and The History Channel.
A recent article by the Independent suggested that those looking at their communications options could consider a broadband television service, such as the services on offer from Tiscali and BT Vision.
