New campaign highlights TalkTalk's 'bright attitude'

Friday 3rd July 2009, by Daniel King

TalkTalk has announced the launch of a new advertising campaign it hopes will help establish it's as "Britain's brighter phone and broadband company".

It explained the reason behind the move was to mark the acquisition of Tiscali UK - a move announced in May that will see the Carphone Warehouse-owned service provider become the largest of its kind in the country.

TalkTalk will be hoping the new press and outdoor campaign can encourage others to consider the benefits of switching to its range of internet and telephone packages.

Developed by advertising agency CHI, the promotion will begin on July 5th and involve images and footage of what the company calls "light graffiti" - set to the backdrop of a number of UK locations.

These include Manchester's Canal Street, Whitehall, Primrose Hill and Brighton beach - which will be used to portray the messages of "brightness and optimism whilst establishing the company's stature and Britishness".

Olivia Streatfeild, marketing director at TalkTalk, said as most people seek out the best value and service from their broadband services, it was important to focus on the range of options the company had for providing this.

Warren Moore, creative director at CHI, added the firm was "full of bright ideas to save you money on your phone and broadband and make the experience as brilliant as possible" - and this was kept in mind when putting together the campaign.

In other news, O2 announced this week it had launched a new telephone helpline for its advanced web customers called O2 Tech Support.
