Nintendo releases Wi-Fi router for Wii

Nintendo has announced that it has released a new Wi-Fi router for its highly successful console the Wii.
Despite having in-built wireless capabilities, the console does not support connection with the company's handheld DS, reports ISP Review.
However, the Nintendo Wi-Fi Network Adapter will enable users to connect their DSs and PCs to the machine.
It is thought the additional hardware will also increase the coverage of the Wii's wireless, which can be too weak for some systems.
The product will retail for between £35 and £45 each and will first be on sale to the public in Japan.
An expert at Broadband and Gaming recently stated that the increased speed of broadband connections will result in a rise in the revenue from consoles, reports PortalIT.net.
As downloads get faster, it is thought that users are likely to spend more money on downloading additional games, video files, multiplayer access and add-ons for their consoles.
