One in eight 'looking to switch broadband provider'

Friday 25th January 2008, by Daniel King

Many broadband users in the UK are unhappy with the broadband service that they are paying for, with one in eight looking to change provider within six months, according to a survey by O2.

The research also showed that 25 per cent of consumers are unhappy with their broadband service, with reasons ranging from connection speed, broadband "issues" and poor customer service.

Marketing director of O2 UK Sally Cowdry highlighted the reasons that customers look to switch broadband provider and the importance of choosing a satisfactory package.

"It's clear from previous studies and backed up by this research that UK broadband customers have low overall satisfaction and are not having an easy ride when it comes to set up, maintenance and customer support of their service," she explained.

O2 UK currently has over 17.9 million customers and launched its new broadband service in October 2007, promising to "make broadband better".
