Playing bingo helps 'online socialising'

While playing bingo online, broadband customers also have the opportunity to socialise, according to the managing director of BingoPort.co.uk.

Scott Logan commented on the different, younger demographic of online players in comparison to the traditionally older regulars at bingo halls, which could interest broadband customers looking for new ways to have fun online.

He explained: "There is still a very strong social aspect to online bingo – in fact, any operator will tell you that the core of their site is their customer facing chat hosts, who run the bingo chat and serve to build customer loyalty through the online community."

It was revealed by the Bingo Association that over 8.5 million people played the game last year, with an increase in younger players which means that close to half of all competitors are now aged under 45.

These figures are combined with data from the Office for National Statistics, showing that 41 per cent of men and 29 per cent of women use the internet to download media such as games and music, highlighting the importance of a reliable, high-speed connection.
