Staying connected to the internet while travelling away from a home broadband connection has just been made easier for York residents and visitors.
It has been revealed that free Wi-Fi will be provided throughout York station, in conjunction with the service already offered on National Express East Coast trains reports vnunet.com.
Station manager for National Express East Coast at York Steve Soards explained: "Staying online throughout a journey can mean the difference between clinching a deal or losing out."
He added that travelling by train offered an advantage over flying or driving as users can stay online throughout their journey - which could interest broadband users on the move.
The website also revealed that there has been a four-fold increase in train Wi-Fi use since its launch at the end of 2007.
National Express East Coast trains use multiple mobile data connections and broadband satellite to provide, reports the company, "continuous service along the entire East Coast route".
