Broadband firm launches credit card

Broadband firm launches credit card Customers of broadband provider BT may be able to save some money on their high-speed internet connection bills by taking out a credit card.

The new financial product, offered by MBNA, allows BT customers to reduce their broadband phone bills by up to £75 each month without having to save vouchers or claim points over a period of time.

Savings made through use of the credit cards will be automatically deducted from the broadband user's bill, with cardholders spending £250 entitled to earnings of 1p for every £2 spent on purchases.

Those spending more than £250 will have their earnings boosted to 1p for every pound spent.

"Our research shows that our customers want a competitive credit card which rewards them for everyday spend and gives them automatic discounts on their BT bill for services they regularly use such as the phone and broadband," said Gavin Patterson, spokesman for BT Retail.

He added that the card would be the "obvious choice" for many UK consumers.
