A new service has been launched by BT that aims to give its entrepreneurial customers a leg up in setting up their own website.
Subscribers to the BT Business Total Broadband Option 3 can sign up to take advantage of the Online Starter Kit for £5 per month and the bundle can also be purchased by new customers at a price of £199.
For this, users will get access to a professionally-built website designed to promote their products and services, as well as an online profile in the company's business networking community.
Web hosting for the initial 12 months is also included and in setting up the initial shop window for their offerings, customers will be offered a consultation on the design of the site and advice on how to prepare content using keywords and other search engine optimisation techniques.
Jerry Thompson, director of business products and online services for the telecommunications company, said it was essential for new business ventures to have a reliable online presence and this was now an affordable option thanks to the Online Starter Kit.
"By bringing everything together in one low-cost bundle, BT is helping small businesses take the vital steps to getting online hassle-free," he added.
"Getting your company website to work more effectively with social business networks such as BT Tradespace is becoming more and more important."
BT recently unveiled three high definition telepresence video conferencing centres where business users can try the system before buying.
