BT has announced that its IT support team has provided ten million minutes worth of advice to customers, including answering 33,000 requests for assistance with wireless broadband connections.
The helpline is available for all broadband users, regardless of supplier, and is twinned with a service where a trained engineer can do a home visit - a service used by 100,000 homes so far.
Director of value added services Emma Sanderson at BT commented on the popularity of the service, saying: "The number of calls our advisors have dealt with coupled with 95 per cent of callers stating that they are highly satisfied with the service, speaks volumes about how popular the service has proven with our customers."
The service for broadband users was launched eighteen months ago and offers support packages from £8.99 per month for phone IT support.
It has also been announced that BT is investing £250 million in a wind power project which will provide a quarter of BT's energy requirements.
