BT to boost business with grant and networking consultation

BT has announced that it will be boosting the business potential of one luck company this year with a special award for innovation.

The broadband services provider will be hosting its Business Experience event at Farmiloe in Farringdon, London between the June 29th and July 3rd – and is celebrating the conference with the competition.

Entrants will be judged by a panel for their ideas and prospects of success and the selected firm will be provided with a £10,000 business grant as well as a complete audit of their telecommunications and broadband systems, conducted by the network's own team of specialists.

Among those selecting the successful applicants will be BT Business managing director Bill Murphy, who explained some of the reasons behind the initiative to give one firm a leg up the corporate ladder.

"Small businesses are vital to the UK economy, particularly in the current climate – so we at […] feel it is vital to support this community by providing opportunities like this," he said.

He added that the BT Business Experience event is a free event designed specifically for companies and entrepreneurs looking to incorporate the latest communications and web technologies into their processes to maximise their options.

"We are now also offering this business grant as an extra boost to this vital community," Mr Murphy concluded.

One group which recently announced its commitment to BT was car rental firm Hertz, which confirmed it had renewed its existing relationship with BT by extending its networked IT services contract.
