Broadband customers who use their connection to catch up on their favourite programmes with BBC iPlayer have been promised top quality viewing from BT with its TV Replay service.
It has been revealed by the BBC that customers will be liable to a £3 per month charge in order to see the programmes in improved quality, including those available on Channel 4 on-demand.
A spokesperson for the corporation: "Customers are, of course, able to watch BBC shows for free on their laptop or PC in lesser quality on the BBC player in the usual way."
Other news that could interest broadband customers is that BBC One will be streamed online by the close of 2008 - with other channels set to follow in the future, offering greater choice to those with high-speed internet.
Meanwhile, Virgin Media has revealed it will be supporting iPlayer by making it available on its television service, which is available in a package deal with a broadband subscription.
